SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Pennway Point is a one-of-a-kind re-imagination of a 20th-century industrial site, formerly home to: Pennway Oil Company, Funkhouser Machinery Company, and Carter-Waters Construction buildings at 2440 W Pennway. A major transformation is underway including these dynamic attractions.
TALEGATE
The story goes that for a century, the Funkhouser Building has been a critical part of a growing Kansas City. And if these walls could talk, they’d tell some mighty tall tales about where this city’s been. But today, this place which was a little more than a monument to what the Crossroads has been, is now at the gateway of all that it is yet to become. From live music and late-night movies to a skating rink and soaring ferris wheel, this space is what happens when great food, cold drinks and a huge breath of fresh air come together in a place unlike any other. And it’s all here to help you live the tales you’ll be telling for years to come.
THE WHEEL by ICON ENTERTAINMENT
ICON Entertainment has created entertainment experiences acround the country. At Pennway Point, they will operate a 50M tall observation wheel with heated and cooled gondolas, a family plaza space and an adjoining mini golf course. What a great way to spend an afternoon with the family.
BEEF & BOTTLE
Beef & Bottle is Kansas City’s newest elevated burger and steak joint with a heavy emphasis on locally raised Wagyu beef and a large assortment of bottles: beers, wines and spirits. The concept was born in 2022 when DAVINCI KC partnered with the Naylor Family and KC Cattle Company to bring Beef & Bottle to Talegate at Pennway Point.
There’s no doubt that Kansas City is a sports-town. That’s why the owners of Brooksider Sportsbar are tackling Beef & Bottle, giving a next level tavern experience and a new place to cheer on your favorite teams.
BARREL HALL
Barrel Hall is the heart and soul of Pennway Point. As the central connector to all venues and operations in development, the 6,000 SF venue is free of columns and boasts abundant natural light, and a beautiful, exposed timber framed “Barrel” ceiling. The energy created by the space and its vendors truly sets the stage for the entire development. With seating for over 100 inside the Barrel Hall and another 100 people in The Smoke Shack, Barrel Hall is the perfect spot for a casual meal, even being a place to host a private or corporate event, all while providing a historical element to the site that cannot be recreated.
Barrel Hall will house:
Boulevard Brewery’s Barrel-Aged Tasting Experience, Chef J BBQ, Würstl (an Austrian street food and sausage concept brought to you by Nicholas Grünauer), and The Bull Creek Whiskey Bar.
LUMI
A 501 (C) (3) nonprofit, The LUMI Neon Museum proudly joins forces with Pennway Point, The Kansas City Automotive Museum, and other Kansas City organizations to present vintage local neon.

Throughout Pennway Point, an in particular along Neon Alley, classic illuminated signs will be displayed for young and young-at-heart alike to enjoy these unique gems of KC's past.
